The Wellington Preparation Plant was completed in 1958 by the United States Steel Corporation. The site is located on land near Wellington, Utah and west of the Price River adjacent to the Denver and Rio Grande Western Railroad. The initial permit was issued to US Steel Corp on December 10, 1984 and the plant was put into temporary cessation.
